Sai Gurukul School, our most successful project so far imparts free (No admission or monthly fees) quality education to underprivileged children. It started as a modest informal entity in 2006 as Sri Sai Gurukul Bridge School, helping school dropouts, rag picker children and other such to learn the 3 Rs of education– Reading, WRiting & ARithmetic. This has now grown to be a Karnataka Govt recognized School with 400+ children from LKG to class X. English being the medium of instruction, Kannada and Hindi are taught as second and third languages. Pre-primary classes were started in the academic year 2015-16; Primary (1st to 5th) in 2016-17, Middle school (6th to 8th) in 2017-18 and High School – 9th in 2018-19 and 10th in 2019-20. So far, all students who passed out 10th std have done quite well. In our 5th batch (2023–24), we achieved a 100% pass rate with 12 distinctions and 11 first-class results. Our curriculum integrates values through a methodology called Education in Human Values, which is taught as a subject in itself. Emphasis is also given to extra-curricular activities like Yoga, Sports, Music etc. The school functions from 9.00 am to 3:30 pm Mon- Sat. We provide good infrastructure (neat, well-lit, ventilated, classrooms with robust desks & benches), hygienic well-ventilated toilets for boys and girls. While education is provided free of cost, to bring in commitment and responsibility from parents, they are asked to buy textbooks, notebooks and uniform. For utterly poor children we cover this cost by providing scholarship.
