We started an informal Bridge School in 2006 for underprivileged children who missed to go to school and too late to catch the bus and ended up doing petty jobs like rag picking etc. The bridge school children were trained in 3 R's (Reading, wRiting & aRithmetic) and bridged to mainstream schooling. This naturally demanded feeding the children with nutritious food and catering to their basic medical needs. What started as a small initiative with 8 children has grown to a full blown school with 450+ children today being given free Education, Food and Medicare.
Sai Gurukul School is a regular English medium High school for the underprivileged. We have classes from Nursery to Class X. The education is completely free for the children. The school has been recognized by the Karnataka State Board.
The trust also runs the free Sai Dhanvantri Allopathic Clinic. The clinic provides consultation to all and free medicines to the underprivileged. We provide lab test facility with 75% subsidized for the poor. We get about 50 patients a day and the demand is increasing.
With Free education we also provide Multigrain (Sai Protein) porridge cooked with milk and jaggery to all our children for breakfast. Free nutritious and sumptuous lunch is served to all children, staff and sub-staff every day.
